Who this is for

Cash needed before moving

The move-in total adds the bond or deposit entered, rent in advance, removalist or truck hire, connection costs and other one-off costs. A refundable deposit is cash needed initially even though it is not the same as an ongoing expense. Rent in advance pays for a rental period and should not be added again as a separate charge for that same period.

Worked example

Illustrative scenario

Entered deposit 2,400 + advance rent 1,200 + moving costs 300 = 3,900 in initial cash. This example is arithmetic, not permission to charge those amounts.

An entered cost is not an authorised charge

The cost planner adds your figures; it does not decide whether a requested fee is permitted, whether a deposit is protected or whether an agency can require a particular advance payment. Confirm the terms and applicable local guidance.

Frequently asked questions

Does the result decide my application or legal position?

No. It reports scoped arithmetic or source guidance. Your agreement, the recipient's assessment and applicable exceptions remain separate.

Are my entered figures sent with analytics?

The calculation runs in your browser. If you allow analytics, pseudonymous usage events contain the tool, market and an ephemeral attempt ID, not your amounts, documents or individual result.
